International, Domestic Air Routes (or Charter) Airport
Guilin's busy Liangjiang International Airport is 28km southwest of the
city. There are over 20 airlines that fly to and from Guilin between every major mainland Chinese cities,
including outlying cities such as Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, and
Fukuoka.
Railway
Station and Excursion Trains
There are two railway stations in Guilin; the South Railway Station and
Guilin Railway Station. Both stations are well-equipped with facilities
such as ticket counter, lost/stolen service, refreshment concessions,
information office, and waiting lounges. There are several trains running
to Guilin several times a day.
Passengers Wharf
Guilin
can reach Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau via Wuzhou by waterway. It has eight
wharfs, and there are one foreign tourists' wharf and one domestic tourists'
wharf in Zhujiang River and Mopanshan Mountain respectively.
Expressway
Guilin boasts a
network of highways that extend to cover the entire province as well as
neighboring provinces. The Guilin-Liuzhou-Beihai Expressway has entrances
and exits to urban area, Hunan Province and Liuzhou. An
emergency parking zone and a special emergency phone is available every 500
meters and 2km on the road.
Urban Traffic
Guilin has convenient public bus network throughout the
city. It has 266 buses and 26 bus lines. There are also periodical
sightseeing buses arranging one-day tour for individual tourists owned by Guilin
International Travel Service.
Taxi
Taxis in Guilin can be found 24 hours a day and passengers can take taxi
everywhere at any time. The city government has issued regulations so that the
taxi service in Guilin is standardized; all taxis must look nice and clean, must
have a meter installed, must not refuse to take passengers, and must not bully
and blackmail passengers.
